In a 2022 interview, Stella Stefanou describes her family’s care of this chapel. She reports a document dated 15 February 1855 transferring it from Ioannis Xenofontas Kritis to his son. She explicitly says the founding date is unknown: 1855 records a transfer, not construction.
This is a family-owned chapel. Arrange access locally before leaving the village; neither public entry nor a walking approach is verified here.
Read the family account before visiting. If access is arranged, think about the ordinary acts of care that keep a small chapel part of a landscape. The source also contains the family’s photographs, available through the source reader.
Choose one detail to remember and compare it with the next church you visit. Ask before photographing an interior.
