Privacy, simply.
The guide itself has no accounts, advertising trackers or analytics scripts. When you save a place, its identifier is stored in your browser’s local storage on this device. Clear your collection using My places, or clear your browser’s site data.
Source links open a reading window with a local summary. Original websites, including Facebook previews, load only when you explicitly select the load button. The selected provider may then receive your IP address and browser information and use cookies under its own policy. Closing the preview removes it from the page; it does not undo information already sent or delete third-party cookies. No preference is saved. The walking maps use locally hosted OpenStreetMap data and do not contact a map provider or request your location. Google Maps opens only when you choose an external map link. External websites operate under their own privacy policies. The hosting provider may process standard access logs to serve and secure the website.
Walking-tour checklists remember visited stops in session storage for this tab. They do not record your location or send your progress to a server. Use Reset visited stops to clear a tour’s checklist.
Stories and photo contributions
The contribution form sends your text, resized photos, credit and contact email to [email protected] for editorial review. Contact emails are kept private; selected material is published only after review and with the permission you provide. Uploaded copies have image metadata removed. The form uses a session cookie for submission security and an opaque network identifier with timestamps to limit repeated submissions. Text and photos are not stored in a public upload folder. To request withdrawal or deletion, email the same address.
